You took the lead to start a book club a week into your first year in primary school. I was so proud of your initiative and leadership. Reading goes a long way to help you survive in life now and later. I don’t mean to stereotype but evidence seems to show that boys hated reading. I see that in the neighbours’ boys, your classmates, and friends who lament their sons would not pick up a book.
So imagine my amusement today when I read a gung-ho article of two American mothers who hatched a plan to start a book club for their boys who hated reading! My interest was piqued. Did their strategy work?
