A Kind Deed

15 June 2009

We performed what I considered a very kind, very good deed for our baby today. We went to KK Hospital to sign the papers to donate her cord blood to the Singapore Cord Blood Bank so that it may benefit those who need her stem cells for transplant.

Although there are 2 private cord blood bank out there – Stemcord and Cordlife, we have somehow found them very commercialised and rather expensive. For eg. with Cordlife, banking our baby’s cord blood with them for 10yrs would cost $3,000. Of course the advantage is that you  get exclusive rights to the cord blood but then, we’re sure baby will be healthy, right?

May this act of kind deed bless her life and keep her safe.
